Optical Illusions
These simple illusions hint at two profound insights about life:
(i) things are not always as they first appear,
(ii) even once the truth is known, the illusion can be hard to unsee.
As the circle moves, it appears that its color changes... but does it?
Stare at the center shape for 20-30 seconds, then look at a static surface. You'll continue to see the motion.
Move your mouse (or click) anywhere to change the direction of the arrow. The circles appear to move in that direction, but do they?
No cube is actually drawn, only the cells along its edges flip colors. Click to pause/resume this flipping.
Are the circles moving?
Is the upper line longer than the lower one?
Are the lines parallel? Click on the animation to stop/resume it.
How many black dots do you see?
Pretty self-explanatory.
